What is the Supports for Community Living Program (SCL)?

The Supports for Community Living Program (SCL) is an exciting development between Alberta Community Development-Alberta Brain Injury Network (ABIN) and Supported Lifestyles AB Ltd.

How Much Support is Provided and For How Long?

The extent of support provided by the Support Worker is based upon individual need.

What Kind of Support is Provided?

Possible ares of service provision include facilitating and supporteing:
  • Development of problem solving/decision-making abilities.
  • Development and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle.
  • Coordination of personal support networks, with an emphasis on promoting and liaising with community services such as vocational, educational, volunteer, employment, social interaction, counselling etc.
  • Development of self - advocacy skills.
  • Promotion of daily living skills including:

Referrals for Service

Anyone can make a referral to Supports for Community Living (SCL).

Who Does the Program Serve?

Individuals served by this program are adults who have sustained a brain injury and are over the age of 18.
